It was chosen personally by Her Highness in occasion of the “1er Salon International de la Rose de Monaco”.
It was a new variety amongst the others. Meilland was going to name it ‘Préference’, but for the Princess, who was the President of the jury, it was love at first sight. She asked that it be dedicated to Her, and this was immediately granted.
